Short film – JONAKI – A Review

Short film Jonaki, crafted from original story written by Anubhab Paria, directed by Suman Saha is a beautiful work of cinematic art. A different kind of amazement. Only 4 things, a doll, a person, a messy house, a phone call. A well made short film with such less resources

Though one and only living character in this film is a male, acted by Archishman Biswas The storyline is about women. The perception of women in a society that considers them “PUPPETS” as the ending sentence states is a strong message that advocates for a change in mentality and attitude.

It’s a heartwarming and touching short film, a story that impresses for its originality and despite the apparent simplicity, the direction does makes the audience to ponder. Archishman Biswas has done well did judgement to the character. Interactions between a puppet and a human being are very well managed and it seems as if they are really interacting with each other.

Photography, sound and art related to the film matched well with the quality of direction. its a 19 minutes delight for any movie enthusiastic
