Protecting Children from Sexual Offenses: A Step Towards a Safer Future
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012, is a crucial legislation in India designed to safeguard children from sexual abuse, harassment, and exploitation. This law enforces strict punishment for offenders, ensures child-friendly reporting and investigation procedures, and mandates fast-track trials in special courts. By recognizing every child’s right to safety and dignity, the POCSO Act is a significant step towards securing the future of the nation.
In an effort to raise awareness and encourage discussions on this critical issue, Monoscope and the Human Rights Council of India are organizing a seminar on Saturday, February 22, at Infinity Quest Mall.
