The Plus Factor
Last Sunday, on February 16, a unique discussion event, “The Plus Factor,” was held at B Positive Café, located in Lake Terrace, Kolkata. This special discussion featured distinguished Bengali women from various fields, all connected by one common identity—they are all plus-size women.
The event saw the participation of—
🔹 Mousumi Ghosh – Corporate Trainer & Event Organizer
🔹 Pritha Sen – Vice Principal, GD Birla Centre for Education
🔹 Ivana – Fashion Model & College Student
🔹 Sreejita Chakraborty – IT Professional & Plus-Size Influencer
🔹 Promita Dutta – Psychologist
🔹 Dr. Shweta Chakraborty – Professor, St. Xavier’s College
🔹 Ranjita – Social Worker
These accomplished women shared their life experiences, where being plus-size had, at times, led to ridicule, discrimination, and challenges. However, they overcame those obstacles with confidence and established themselves in society.
The event’s host and organizer, Rittama, created a warm and engaging atmosphere where the guests shared their inspiring stories. The event was produced by Abhishek Ganguly.
