🎶 Life as a Ballad: Celebrating the Soulful Journey of Ranjan Prasad 🎶
In a heartfelt tribute to Bengal’s iconic musical storyteller, Life is a Ballad—a cinematic portrait of Ranjan Prasad—was recently unveiled to an appreciative audience at Shivananda Hall, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark. This evocative documentary, crafted by Cinema for a Cause and helmed by Abhishek Ganguli as director, narrator, and cinematographer, offered a stirring glimpse into the life and legacy of a living legend.

The screening was made possible through the gracious support of Swami Suparnananda (Satya Maharaj), with seamless coordination by Sayok Chakraborty of RKM Golpark. The evening was further enriched by the presence of Swami Sumanasananda (Subhash Maharaj), alongside a gathering of devoted admirers, cultural enthusiasts, and long-time followers of Ranjan Prasad.
What began as a film screening soon blossomed into a spontaneous musical homage. Ranjan Prasad, joined by his gifted disciples—Antardip Biswas, Sayan Haldar, and Reeta Chakraborty—filled the hall with the timeless rhythms of Lalon, Baul, Bengali folk, and Prasad’s own unforgettable compositions. The impromptu performances transformed the event into a living tapestry of melody and memory.

✨ The evening echoed a profound truth: Music transcends borders. It speaks to the human spirit, dissolving boundaries and connecting hearts through shared stories, cultural wisdom, and the raw beauty of lived experience.
