The Terrifying Night

Whenever I think about that night, I still lose sleep. If you read my story, your hair will stand on end, and you too will tremble with fear. After reading this, you might start believing in ghosts and spirits, and you will think a thousand times before stepping out alone at night.

So let me begin my story.

This incident happened during my college days. Back then, we were always ready to try something new and crazy. And because of one such adventure, we almost landed ourselves in a huge and frightening trouble.

My name is Disha. I currently live in Mumbai, and I completed my studies from M.K. Gandhi College. I still remember how something happened in the final year of college that changed my entire life.

It was our last year, so my friends and I decided to go for a night‑out before the final exams. My friends were supposed to come to my house that night because no one was home. My family had gone to a relative’s place for a function, and I didn’t go because I already had plans with my friends.

Six or seven of my friends were coming. I had prepared everything — food, drinks, snacks. Everyone arrived on time. We had fun, danced, joked around, and later everyone had a little to drink and started playing games.

While talking, the topic suddenly shifted to ghosts. In our area, there was a road that people believed was haunted. Many accidents had happened there, and people said spirits roamed around that place.

One of my friends said, “Let’s go there right now. I’ve heard so much about that road. Today we’ll see for ourselves whether ghosts really exist or not.”

I immediately refused. It was 3 a.m., pitch dark, and I was very scared. But none of my friends listened. They dragged me along, and I couldn’t do anything.

Within half an hour, we reached that road. Everyone got out of the car and started walking around. It was 3:30 a.m., completely silent, and there was a cemetery right beside the road. I didn’t even have the courage to step out of the car.

Everyone was fooling around when suddenly we heard a girl’s voice. At first, everyone thought it was an illusion. But then the voice came again — “Help me… free me from this prison…” And she started crying.

My friends looked around, but there was no one. They panicked and rushed back into the car. One of them tried to start the engine, but the car wouldn’t start. The petrol tank was full, the servicing was done recently — still, the engine refused to start.

Suddenly, someone came near the car and started banging on the window loudly. But we couldn’t see who it was. We were terrified.

I started chanting the Hanuman Chalisa loudly, and the very next moment, the car started. We sped away from that place. It had taken us thirty minutes to reach there, but only fifteen minutes to return.

Everyone was shaken. I told them, “Spirits do exist, but they don’t always show themselves. Never disturb them. If we trouble them, they can destroy our lives.” Everyone agreed with me.

Even today, when I think about that horrifying night, my soul trembles.

I am not trying to promote belief in ghosts, but yes — I do want to say that some supernatural powers do exist. We should never challenge them. Some forces are invisible but real. Unfulfilled spirits look for bodies to fulfill their desires. Their powers awaken after midnight and become strongest between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. That’s why we should never visit such places at night.

Very few people know that dark energies also have their own time, and they attack those whose minds are weak — and at that hour, whether we like it or not, our mind becomes weak.

So we must always be careful.
